Body Image and Self Esteem

Do you get tired of feeling bad about your body? Do you feel like you know what you should be eating to be healthier, but you always end up giving in, eating for comfort, craving sweets, or losing your willpower in social situations?

I know what this is like. I was an emotional eater. I tried many different diets, but they didn’t last long. The food was more important to me than feeling good in and about my body.

Eating Disorders and Fad Diets

I’ve been through eating disorders and fad diets. I’ve been a dancer in the dance world with the pressure to be thinner than what is healthy. I’m also a woman, a position that automatically inherits the tendency to be obsessed with my body and weight…and to compare myself with others almost constantly.

The Answer to Change

Fortunately I did eventually gain the motivation and strength to change. How? I discovered something that I loved more than food. I discovered me. I decided that I no longer wanted to waste time. I went to work hard on my body image, my self-esteem, and my relationships. I made the decision to stop hiding and to express myself fully, going after my dreams, saying how I truly felt (rather than suppressing it) and being myself. I decided to experience my life fully instead of burying my head in a pint of ice cream or a box of Oreo cookies.

I lost 25 pounds and did it in a healthy, balanced way. I learned how to eat healthy nourishing food and stop bingeing or eating for comfort. My body image began to change, my confidence changed, I experienced more intimacy in relationships, and I stopped settling for less than how I truly wanted to live my life.

You Can Make the Change Too

You can make these changes to. You can feel good in your body; you can go after what you want.

A Life Worth Living

That is why I am passionate about coaching women. I want to see you break out of the bondage of self-consciousness. I want to see you living brightly and love freely. I want to see you going after your dreams, and creating practical, tangible plans to get you there. I want to see you have the knowledge and strength to choose and eat healthy foods without constantly battling with yourself over it or becoming obsessed with some radical diet. I want to see you experience the positive effects of what eating healthy can do for you…like losing unneeded weight, clearing up your skin, lowering your cholesterol, improving PMS symptoms, and simply just feeling better because your body is well nourished.
